Maraschino Nut Cake - cooking recipe

2 1/4 c. flour
1 1/3 c. sugar
3 tsp. double action baking powder
1 tsp. salt
1/2 c. shortening
1/4 c. maraschino juice
16 cherries, cut in eighths
1/2 c. milk
1/2 c. chopped nuts
Preparation

Sift 3 times first four items.
Add shortening, cherry juice, cherries and milk.
Beat at medium speed 2 minutes.
Fold in 1/2 cup chopped nuts.
Coat pan with shortening and flour.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for 30 to 35 minutes.
