Doughnuts - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 3/4 c. flour
    4 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 c. milk
    1/4 tsp. nutmeg
    1 egg
    1 c. sugar
Preparation
    Sift together the flour, baking powder, salt and nutmeg.
    Beat the egg; add the sugar and milk to it and use to moisten the dry ingredients.
    Turn onto a well floured board; knead slightly.
    Roll out, about 1-inch thick.
    Cut with doughnut cutter and cook golden brown in deep hot fat.
    Drain on unglazed paper and dust with sugar.
