Fresh Lemonade - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    6 lemons
    1 c. sugar
    ice cubes
Preparation
    With a sharp knife, very thinly slice lemons crosswise. Discard end slices and seeds.
    Put lemon slices into a large bowl or sturdy pitcher.
    Add the sugar.
    With a wooden spoon, stir until the sugar is dissolved.
    Let lemon-sugar mixture stand 10 minutes.
    Add ice and 6 cups cold water.
    Stir until very cold. Add lemon slices.
    Serve.
