Virginia Cox'S Peanut Brittle - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. sugar
    3/4 c. syrup
    2 c. (heaping) raw peanuts
    1/4 c. water
    pinch of salt (1/8 tsp.)
    2 tsp. baking soda
Preparation
    Cook sugar, syrup, peanuts, water and salt.
    In heavy pan, cook 8 to 10 minutes, until peanuts nearly stop popping and lose whiteness when opened.
    Remove from heat.
    Add baking soda.
    Stir fast and pour immediately.
    Cool and crack.
