Oatmeal Bars - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3/4 c. shortening
    1 c. firmly packed brown sugar
    1 extra large egg or 2 small eggs
    1/4 c. water
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1/2 tsp. rum flavoring (optional)
    1 c. flour
    1 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. soda
    3 c. uncooked oats
    1/2 c. chocolate chips
    1/2 c. sugar
    1/2 c. butterscotch chips
Preparation
    In a large bowl, combine shortening, brown sugar, sugar, eggs, water, vanilla and rum flavoring.
    Stir until fluffy.
    Add flour, salt and soda, mixing well.
    Stir in oats and chips.
    Bake on well-greased pans at 350\u00b0 for about 20 minutes.
    Use one 9 x 13-inch pan and one 8 x 8-inch pan.
