Crunchy Green Beans - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 c. young tender green beans
    1 small onion, sliced into rings
    3 cloves garlic or 3 Tbsp.
    3 Tbsp. water
    1 tsp. sugar or 1 pkg. Equal
    1 tsp. basil
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 Tbsp. vegetable oil
Preparation
    In frying pan, bring 1-inch of water to a boil.
    Add green beans, cover and reduce heat.
    Cook 8 minutes.
    Drain and put into ice water 5 minutes.
    Drain.
    Saute onion and garlic in oil until tender, stirring constantly.
    Put beans back into pan and cook 1 minute, stirring constantly.
    Add 2 tablespoons water, sugar and salt.
    Cook 2 minutes and serve.
