1/2 gal. (8 c.) water
1/2 gal. pineapple juice *
1 tsp. whole cloves or 1 stick cinnamon (optional)
sugar to taste

*Juices of other fruits; e.g., 2 or 3 limes or lemons, diluted with enough water to make 8 cups may be substituted for pineapple.
