Cavalier'S Brown Sugar Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 c. dark brown sugar
    1/2 c. lard
    1/2 c. boiling water
    1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
    1 tsp. vanilla
    4 to 4 1/2 c. flour
Preparation
    Cream lard and sugar.
    Dissolve soda in boiling water; pour over sugar mixture.
    Stir and cool to room temperature.
    Add vanilla.
    Add flour until dough seems ready for rolling.
    Chill dough.
    Roll very thin; shape as desired.
    Place on lightly greased cookie sheet.
    Bake at 375\u00b0 for about 10 minutes.
