Corn Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. corn meal
    1 c. flour
    1/4 c. sugar
    1 c. milk
    1/2 tsp. salt
    4 tsp. baking powder
    1 egg
    1/4 c. shortening or oleo, softened
Preparation
    Mix dry ingredients; add egg, milk and shortening.
    Mix well until smooth.
    Pour into 8-inch greased pan or muffin pan.
    Bake in hot oven (425\u00b0) for 20 to 25 minutes.
