Red Rice - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 large onion, chopped
1 large bell pepper (green), chopped
1 15 oz. can tomato sauce
1 15 oz. can chopped tomatoes
3 15 oz. cans of water
3 c. rice (not cooked)
Salt and pepper to taste
2 1/4 c. sugar
Fried bacon grease
Preparation

Cover bottom of pot in bacon grease.
Add chopped onion and bell pepper and saute until tender.
Add tomato sauce, chopped tomatoes and 2 cans of water. Salt and pepper to taste. Add 4 tbsp. of sugar. Bring to a boil. Add rice and bring to a boil again.
Turn heat down and simmer until rice is tender, but not dry, stirring occasionally. There should be a little juice in the pot.
