Jambalaya - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1/2 lb. spicy smoked sausage
2 Tbsp. margarine
1 large onion, chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 green pepper, chopped
1 red pepper, chopped
16 oz. can tomatoes, chopped
1/2 tsp. thyme
1 tsp. chili powder
1/4 tsp. hot red pepper
1/8 tsp. sugar
1 c. long grain white rice
6 oz. smoked ham, diced
1 1/2 c. chicken broth
1 lb. cooked chicken, diced
1 Tbsp. parsley
Preparation
-
Saute
sausages
in greased Dutch oven over medium heat until well
browned.
Transfer
to
plate.
Discard drippings from pot. Add
margarine; heat.
Add onion. Cook over medium-low heat
2 minutes.
Add
garlic. Cook 3 minutes.
Add green and
red pepper,
tomatoes
(drained),
thyme,
chili powder, ground red pepper and sugar. Cook, covered, over low heat for 15 minutes.
