Kringla - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 c. water
    2 pkg. yeast
    2 c. flour
    6 c. flour
    1 c. shortening (mix as pie crust)
    2 tsp. salt
    2/3 c. sugar
    1 c. cream or evaporated milk
Preparation
    Mix water, yeast and 2 cups flour and let raise about 1/2 hour.
    Place in bowl and mix 6 cups flour, shortening, salt, sugar and cream.
    Add yeast mixture and knead well.
    Let raise 1/2 hour. Roll in 1/2-inch diameter strings and shape into figure eights. Glaze top with beaten egg and bake at 400\u00b0 until golden brown.
