Vicki'S Catfish Stew - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    catfish pieces
    potatoes
    onions
    salt and pepper
    water
Preparation
    Use a large cast-iron pot and place 4 or 5 strips of bacon in bottom.
    Let it cook.
    Leave bacon in bottom of pot, then start layering with fish pieces, sliced potatoes, sliced onions and salt and pepper.
    Layer until pot is full.
    Salt and pepper each layer. Add enough water to just about cover.
    Bring to a boil.
    Cut down to simmer and cook covered about 1 hour or until potatoes are tender.
    Serve with white bread or cornbread.
