Rowena'S Curry Chicken - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 (3 1/2 lb.) broiler-fryer, cut up
    flour for coating
    1/4 c. salad oil
    2 garlic cloves
    2 medium onions, thinly sliced
    1/3 c. blanched almonds
    cooked rice or noodles
    1 medium green pepper, chopped
    2 tsp. salt
    1 Tbsp. curry powder
    1 (29 oz.) can tomatoes
    1/2 c. dark seedless raisins
    2 tsp. butter
    1 Tbsp. chopped parsley
    1/2 c. chopped celery
Preparation
    Coat chicken and brown in oil; remove.
    In drippings over medium heat, cook garlic, onions, green pepper, celery, curry and salt for 5 minutes.
    Stir in tomatoes and raisins.
    Add chicken. Cover and simmer until chicken is done, about 45 minutes.
    Brown almonds in butter, shaking skillet occasionally.
    Sprinkle almonds and parsley over chicken.
    Serve with hot rice or noodles.
