Black Walnut Pound Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. butter
    2 c. sugar
    4 eggs, well beaten
    3 c. cake flour
    2 tsp. baking powder
    1 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 c. milk
    1 c. black walnuts, chopped very fine
Preparation
    Cream together butter and sugar.
    Add eggs and beat until light and fluffy.
    Sift flour, measure and then add baking powder and salt; sift again.
    Stir vanilla into milk; add alternately with dry ingredients, beating well each time.
    Stir in walnuts to distribute evenly through batter.
    Pour into greased and floured tube pan.
    Bake for 1 hour at 350\u00b0.
    Serve plain or with icing.
