French Onion Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 large onions, sliced
    1/4 c. margarine
    6 c. chicken or beef broth
    1/4 tsp. pepper
    croutons
    cheese (Swiss or Provolone or Mozzarella)
Preparation
    Saute onions in margarine until they are transparent.
    Add broth and pepper to onions and simmer 30 minutes.
    Serve in oven-proof bowls.
    Top with croutons and cheese (Swiss, Provolone or Mozzarella).
    Heat in oven or microwave until cheese is melted.
