Congo Squares - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2/3 c. shortening
    1 box (2 1/2 c.) brown sugar
    3 eggs
    2 3/4 c. flour
    1 c. pecans
    1 small pkg. chocolate chips
Preparation
    Cream together shortening and sugar.
    Add eggs; mix well.
    Add flour, then fold in nuts and chocolate chips.
    Batter will be stiff.
    Spread in greased 9 x 13-inch pan.
    Bake in oven at 325\u00b0 for 45 minutes or until done.
