Soft Custard - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. milk
    3 eggs, slightly beaten
    1/8 tsp. salt
    1/4 c. sugar
    1/2 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Scald milk in a saucepan over low heat or in a double boiler. Beat eggs and add to scalded milk, stirring constantly.
    Place in top of a double boiler and cook over simmering water until the custard thickens.
    Let set in a pan of cold water or by pouring the custard into a chilled bowl.
    Stir in vanilla.
    Cover with foil or plastic wrap and refrigerate.
    Yields 4 servings.
