Winchester Nut Bread - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1/2 c. brown sugar
3/4 c. cold water
1/2 c. molasses
3/4 c. milk
1 c. all-purpose flour
1 tsp. salt
2 1/2 tsp. baking powder
3/4 tsp. baking soda
2 c. whole wheat flour
3/4 c. walnut meats
Preparation

Put in a bowl brown sugar and cold water.
Stir until the sugar dissolves.
Add molasses and milk.
Stir together flour, salt, baking powder and baking soda.
Add to the dry ingredients whole wheat flour.
Combine the mixtures.
Stir in walnut meats in large pieces.
Spoon into two buttered pans, 9 x 5-inches.
Bake 2 hours at 275\u00b0.
