Applesauce Brownies - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1/2 c. Crisco
2 oz. unsweetened chocolate
1 c. sugar
2 eggs, beaten
1/2 c. applesauce
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. flour
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 c. chopped nuts
Preparation

Melt Crisco and chocolate over hot water.
Blend in the sugar, eggs, applesauce and vanilla.
Sift together the flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt.
Fold into chocolate mixture and add the nuts.
Bake in a 9 x 9-inch pan for 35 to 40 minutes at 350\u00b0. Cut while hot.
May ice, if desired.
