Sauteed Chicken Baked In Cream And Mushrooms - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 to 2 1/2 lb. frying chicken
    1/2 c. lard or bacon drippings
    1/2 lb. mushrooms
    2 c. hot cream
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. paprika
Preparation
    Clean and cut into pieces 2 to 2 1/2 pound frying chicken.
    Dip in milk.
    Dredge with flour.
    Season with salt and paprika.
    Melt in a skillet 1/2 cup lard or bacon drippings.
    Add chicken.
    Saute it until brown.
    Drain on absorbent paper.
    Slice 1/2 pound mushrooms.
    Saute mushrooms in skillet for 2 minutes.
    Place chicken in a deep baking dish.
    Place mushrooms on top.
    Pour over it 2 cups hot cream.
    Season with 1/4 teaspoon salt and 1/4 teaspoon paprika.
    Bake chicken at 325\u00b0 until tender and cream is a thick sauce (about 1/2 hour).
    Good served over rice.
