Divinity - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 2/3 c. sugar
    2/3 c. white syrup
    2/3 c. water
    2 egg whites, stiffly beaten
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 c. chopped nuts
Preparation
    Mix the syrup and water together.
    Stir over medium heat until the sugar dissolves.
    Cook until a small amount dropped into cold water threads to a hard crack stage.
    Have ready the stiffly beaten egg whites.
    Pour syrup very slowly into egg whites; continue beating, using a large spoon until mixture holds its shape.
    Add the vanilla and nuts.
    Drop by teaspoon onto wax paper.
