Penuche-Candy - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 pt. sugar
    1 pt. whole milk
    1 stick butter
    1/4 tsp. soda
    2 c. pecans
Preparation
    Brown 1 pint sugar slowly in heavy skillet until syrupy. As it's melting, have remaining sugar and milk cooking slowly. Pour syrup into milk and sugar mixture very slowly, stirring constantly. Cook and stir until firm ball. Once firm ball, add soda and butter. Set off fire about 20 minutes, then beat in pecans and vanilla. Pour into greased 9 x 15 pan. Cool and cut into bite size pieces.
