German Chocolate Frosting - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. sugar
    1 c. evaporated milk
    3 slightly beaten egg yolks
    1/2 c. butter
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 1/2 c. coconut, shredded
    1 c. chopped pecans or walnuts
Preparation
    Cook first 5 ingredients over medium heat until thickened, stirring all the time, about 2 minutes.
    Remove from heat.
    Add coconut and nuts; mix well.
    Cool until spreading consistency. Spread on 2 layers of chocolate cake.
