Bertha Roberts' Dark Fruit Cake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

4 c. plain flour
2 tsp. baking powder
2 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. cloves
1 tsp. allspice
2 tsp. nutmeg
12 eggs
1 c. molasses
1 c. melted butter
1 c. milk
2 c. brown sugar
1 c. white sugar
1 lb. walnuts
1 lb. raisins
1 lb. currants
1 lb. dates
1/2 lb. mixed fruit
1/2 lb. cherries
1/2 lb. pineapple
Preparation

Mix brown and white sugars with butter and cream thoroughly. Sift the first 6 ingredients together and set aside.
Add eggs one at a time.
Add molasses.
Add flour and milk alternately.
Dredge all fruit with flour.
Bake at 300\u00b0 until done.
