Spoon Bread - cooking recipe
Ingredients

4 large eggs
1 c. sugar
4 c. milk
2 c. buttermilk
4 Tbsp. butter
3 c. white cornmeal
2 tsp. soda
1 c. flour
2 tsp. salt
Preparation

Beat eggs until light and fluffy and combine with sugar until smooth as you can make it.
Dissolve soda in buttermilk and add this and 3 cups of sweet milk to egg mixture.
Combine cornmeal, flour and salt.
Mix well.
Add to the first mixture and beat until smooth.
Melt the butter in an oblong pan.
Add the remaining batter and pour remaining cup milk over the top.
(Do not stir.)
Bake at 400\u00b0 until knife in center comes out clean (about 40 to 45 minutes).
Serve from pan in which it was baked with plenty of butter.
