Nine Day Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 box canning salt
    1 box alum
    turmeric
    1 can pickling spices
    vinegar
    sliced cucumbers
Preparation
    First Mixture:
    One cup of salt to 1 gallon water.
    Bring salt water mixture to a boil.
    Remove from heat and pour hot liquid over cucumber slices until they are covered.
    Let stand 24 hours.
    Pour old water mixture out.
    Repeat process with fresh salt water (3 days).
