Pickled Beets - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 lb. small beets
    1 1/2 c. white vinegar
    1/2 c. water
    1 c. packed brown sugar
    1 Tbsp. pickling spice, tied in a small bag
Preparation
    Cook beets in salted water until tender; peel, cut and pack beets in hot sterilized jars.
    Combine vinegar, water, sugar and spice.
    Bring to boil.
    Simmer 5 minutes.
    Remove spice bag.
    Pour over beets and seal jars.
