Apple Cake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1/2 c. butter or margarine
1 egg
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 c. buttermilk
1/2 c. dates or raisins
1 c. sugar
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/8 tsp. cloves
1 c. raw apples, chopped
1/2 c. chopped nuts (optional)
Preparation

Mix flour, spices, baking soda, salt and baking powder; set aside.
Cream butter and sugar.
Add egg, buttermilk and flour mixture alternately.
Add dates or raisins, nuts and apples.
Bake at 350\u00b0 in a 9 x 13-inch greased and floured pan for 30 minutes, or until top is browned.
Can be served plain or with whipped cream or ice cream.
Serves 6 to 8.
