Ingredients

6 egg yolks
1 stick butter
juice of 3 lemons
rind of 1 lemon
1 c. sugar
pinch of salt
1/2 c. flour
1/2 c. hot water
Preparation

Melt butter in top of double boiler.
Meanwhile, beat egg yolks well.
Add sugar, salt and flour.
Add hot water and lemon juice, then stir into melted butter.
Cook in double boiler until thick, stirring all the time.
Use as filling and/or icing for white cake.
