Red Velvet Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. shortening
    1 tsp. cocoa
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    1 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. vanilla
    2 eggs
    2 oz. red food coloring
    2 1/4 c. flour
    1 c. buttermilk
    1 tsp. soda
    1 tsp. vinegar
    1 c. milk
    4 Tbsp. flour
    1 c. sugar
    1 c. white shortening
    2 tsp. vanilla
    1 c. powdered sugar
Preparation
    Mix ahead 1 teaspoon soda and 1 teaspoon vinegar.
    Beat together until very light the shortening, cocoa, sugar, salt, vanilla, eggs and food coloring.
    Add flour alternately with the buttermilk.
    Fold soda and vinegar mixture into the batter.
    Pour into three greased and floured pans.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 30 to 35 minutes.
    Cook milk mixed gradually with 4 tablespoons flour and let cool.
    Mix sugar, shortening and 2 teaspoons vanilla.
    Add cooled mixture, one teaspoon at a time, beating into sugar and shortening.
    Add 1 cup powdered sugar.
    Spread between top of layers.
