Eggplant Parmesan - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 medium eggplants (about 1 1/2 lb.)
    4 egg whites, beaten until frothy
    1/2 c. dry bread crumbs
    1/2 tsp. dried basil
    1/2 tsp. dried oregano
    1/2 tsp. garlic powder
    1/4 tsp. black pepper
    3 c. tomato sauce
    8 oz. Mozzarella cheese
    2 Tbsp. fresh parsley
    1 lb. ground beef (optional) *
