Pumpkin Pie - cooking recipe

1 pie crust (unbaked)
2 c. pumpkin, well drained
3/4 c. milk
3 egg yolks, beaten
1/2 c. sugar
1 1/4 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. cloves
1/4 tsp. ginger
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
1 tsp. salt
3 egg whites, stiffly beaten
Preparation

Mix the pumpkin and milk together.
Add the beaten egg yolks. Add the sugar which has been mixed with the cinnamon, cloves, ginger, nutmeg and salt.
Mix well and fold in the egg whites. Pour pumpkin mixture in pie crust.
Bake in a 450\u00b0 oven for 10 minutes, reduce heat to 375\u00b0 and bake for 30 minutes longer or until filling is firm.
(Bake in a 9-inch Pyrex pan.)
