Microwave New England Clam Chowder - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. cubed potatoes
    3/4 c. thinly sliced celery
    1 medium onion, chopped
    2 (6 1/2 oz. each) cans minced clams (reserve liquid)
    1 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. dried parsley flakes
    1/4 tsp. dried thyme leaves
    1/4 tsp. pepper
    1 medium carrot, grated
    2 c. milk, divided
    1/4 c. all-purpose flour
    3 Tbsp. butter or margarine
Preparation
    In a 2-quart casserole, combine potatoes, celery, onion, reserved clam liquid, salt, parsley, thyme and pepper.
    Mix well. Cover.
