Hamburger Pie - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. ground beef
    1/2 c. onion, chopped
    1 (16 oz.) can cut green beans, drained
    1 (10-3/4 oz.) can condensed tomato soup
    1/4 c. water
    3/4 tsp. salt
    1/8 tsp. pepper
    3 med. potatoes, peeled and quartered
    1 egg, beaten
    milk
    1/2 c. American cheese, shredded
Preparation
    Cook ground beef and onion until done in large skillet.
    Drain off fat.
    Stir in green beans, tomato soup, water, salt and pepper.
    Put meat mixture into a 1-1/2 quart casserole dish.
    Cook potatoes in boiling salt water in a covered pan for about 20 minutes or just until tender and drain.
    Mash the potatoes while hot and blend in egg.
    Add enough milk to make potatoes fluffy yet stiff enough to hold their shape.
    Season with salt and pepper. Drop potatoes in mounds on top of meat mixture.
    Sprinkle with cheese.
    Bake uncovered at 350\u00b0 for 25-30 minutes or until heated through.
    Serves 4-6.
