Snickerdoodles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. soft shortening
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    2 eggs
    2 3/4 c. sifted Gold Medal flour
    2 tsp. cream of tartar
    1 tsp. soda
    1/4 tsp. salt
Preparation
    Mix
    thoroughly
    shortening,\tsugar
    and
    eggs.
    Sift together and
    stir\tin
    flour, cream of tartar, soda and salt. Roll into balls the size of small walnuts.\tRoll in mixture of 2 tablespoons
    sugar and 2 teaspoons cinnamon.
    Place 2-inches apart on ungreased
    baking
    sheet.
    Bake\tat
    400\u00b0 for 8 to 10 minutes until
    lightly browned but still soft.
    (These puff up at first and then flatten out.) Makes 5 dozen cookies.
