Date Loaf Candy - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. sugar
    1 c. milk
    1/4 c. butter
    1 c. pitted chopped dates
    1 c. chopped nuts
    1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Combine sugar, milk and butter in saucepan.
    Boil until hard ball stage.
    Add dates, nuts and vanilla.
    Thoroughly wet a cloth and lay on counter.
    Pour the candy on the cloth.
    Shape into a log and roll in the cloth.
    Let sit overnight or until hard and cloth is dry.
    Unroll and slice.
