Pasta And Bean Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 slices bacon
    1 small onion
    1 medium garlic clove
    1 celery stalk
    3 Tbsp. olive oil
    3 to 4 peeled plum tomatoes
    2 qt. hot water
    2 tsp. salt
    2 c. dried Navy beans*
    2 c. small pasta
    3 to 4 Tbsp. Romano or Parmesan cheese
Preparation
    Chop first 4 ingredients very fine; put in big soup pot with olive oil.
    Saute until golden; then add tomatoes (or paste) and cook again for about 3 minutes.
    Add hot water, salt and beans; bring to a good boil.
    Let simmer, covered, for about 10 to 15 minutes.
