Broken Toffee - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. sugar
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/4 c. water
    1/2 c. butter or oleo
    1 c. nuts, ground
    6 oz. pkg. semi-sweet chocolate chips
Preparation
    Cook sugar, salt, water and butter to 285\u00b0 or until a few drops of mixture added to a cup of water will form a thin pliable ribbon.
    Add 1/2 cup of nuts.
    Pour onto a well-greased cookie sheet; cool.
    Melt chocolate; spread on top.
    Sprinkle with remaining nuts; cool.
    This will make about 2 dozen pieces.
    When cool, break into pieces.
