Hush Puppies - cooking recipe

Ingredients

2 c. yellow corn meal mix
1/8 tsp. black pepper
1 c. milk
1/2 c. finely chopped onion
1 egg, beaten
vegetable oil

Preparation

Mix all ingredients except oil in bowl.
Let stand 1 to 2 minutes to thicken.
Heat oil to 375\u00b0.
Drop by rounded teaspoonfuls into oil.
Cook about 3 minutes or until golden brown.
Makes 2 dozen.
