Chow Chow - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    12 medium size green tomatoes
    6 large heads cabbage
    3 large onions
    6 long green hot peppers
    3 large bell peppers
    1 c. sugar
    3/4 c. salt
    1 gal. vinegar
Preparation
    Chop first 5 ingredients very fine.
    Add sugar, salt and vinegar.
    Add enough water to mixture to make 5 gallons of chow chow.
    Cook only until hot; place in jars.
