Crab Gumbo - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1/2 c. onions, chopped
2 Tbsp. butter or margarine
1 16-oz can tomatoes, cut up
1 8-oz can tomato sauce
1 13-3/4 oz can chicken broth
1/2 tsp. sugar
1/8 tsp. pepper
1 Bay leaf
1 15-1/2 oz can cut okra, drained
1 7-1/2 oz can crab, drained, chopped and cartilage removed or 2 (4-1/2 oz) cans shrimp, drained
3 c. hot cooked rice
Preparation

In 3 quart saucepan cook onion in butter or margarine till tender but not brown.
Add tomatoes, tomato sauce, chicken broth, sugar, pepper, and bay leaf.
Bring to boiling; reduce heat and simmer, uncovered, about 30 minutes.
Remove bay leaf.
Add okra, and crab or shrimp; heat through.
Serve gumbo over hot cooked rice in soup plates.
Serves 6.
