Apple Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    20 oz. can crushed pineapple, not drained
    2/3 c. sugar
    3 oz. pkg. lemon jello
    8 oz. softened cream cheese
    1 c. chopped celery
    1 c. chopped unpeeled apple
    1 c. chopped nuts (walnuts/pecans)
    1 c. Cool Whip
Preparation
    Mix together the pineapple and sugar.
    Boil for 3 minutes. Add the lemon jello and the softened cream cheese.
    Cool thoroughly.
    Add the chopped celery, apple, nuts and Cool Whip. Spread in an 8 x 12-inch baking dish.
    Chill overnight.
