Fruitcake Squares - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 c. light brown sugar (not packed)
    1 stick margarine
    1 c. unsifted plain flour
    2 eggs
    1 lb. candied red cherries, cut
    1/2 lb. candied green pineapple, cut
    2 c. chopped pecans
    2 tsp. vanilla flavoring
    1 tsp. ground cinnamon
Preparation
    Cream margarine and brown sugar.
    Add eggs and beat well.
    Mix in flour, then vanilla and cinnamon.
    Stir in cut cherries, pineapple and nuts.
    Pour into a well-greased and floured 13 x 9-inch pan.
    Bake in a 300\u00b0 oven for about 1 hour.
    Check at 45 minutes to prevent overcooking.
    Yields 40 nice-size squares. Store in tightly covered container.
