Old Time Beef Stew - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 lb. beef
    2 Tbsp. fat
    4 c. boiling water
    1 Tbsp. lemon juice
    1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
    1 clove garlic
    1 medium onion
    1 to 2 bay leaves
    1 Tbsp. salt
    1 tsp. sugar
    1/2 tsp. paprika
    dash of allspice and cloves
    6 carrots
    2 lb. potatoes
Preparation
    Cut beef into 1-inch cubes and coat with salt, pepper and flour. Brown the meat in shortening. Add all the rest of the ingredients in a large pot.
