Baked Apple Donuts - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 1/2 c. flour
    3/4 tsp. baking powder
    1 1/2 tsp. nutmeg
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    1 1/2 tsp. salt
    1 c. shortening
    3 eggs, beaten
    1 1/2 c. grated raw apples
    3/4 c. milk
Preparation
    Sift flour, baking powder, nutmeg, sugar and salt.
    Cut in shortening.
    Combine eggs, milk and apples and add to crumb mixture.
    Mix quickly until thoroughly blended.
    Fill greased muffin cups 3/4 full.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 20 to 25 minutes or until golden brown.
    Remove from pans while warm.
    Roll in melted margarine, then in mixture of 1 cup sugar and 3 teaspoons cinnamon.
    Yields about 2 dozen.
