Sweet Rolls - cooking recipe
Ingredients
- 
                            2 pkg. dry yeast
 
4 Tbsp. warm water
5 1/2 c. flour
3 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. soda
1/4 c. sugar
1 tsp. salt
1 c. liquid shortening
2 c. buttermilk
Preparation
- 
                            Dissolve yeast in lukewarm water. Mix dry ingredients together. Mix liquid shortening, buttermilk and yeast, then add dry ingredients. Mix well. On lightly floured surface, roll 1/2 recipe to rectangle, about 1/4 inch thick. Sprinkle with brown sugar and chopped pecans. Roll lengthwise as for jelly roll. Cut in 1 inch slices. Place on greased cookie sheet. Let set about 20 to 30 minutes. Bake at 375\u00b0 for 20 to 25 minutes. Frost with confectioners icing.
