Hard Jack Candy - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2/3 c. syrup
    2 c. sugar
    3/4 c. hot water
    1/2 to 1 tsp. flavoring (depending on flavor)
    coloring (however much you want)
    powdered sugar
Preparation
    Heat first 3 ingredients.
    Add coloring at 250\u00b0.
    Continue cooking to 300\u00b0.
    Add flavoring after boiling to 300\u00b0 and turn off heat.
    Pour onto a buttered cookie sheet.
    Slice into strips and quickly cut with scissors into small pieces.
    Place small pieces in powdered sugar as you cut them.
