Yellow Casserole - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 lb. yellow squash, in 1/4-inch pieces
    1/2 c. water
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 c. chopped yellow onion
    1 c. chopped sweet yellow pepper
    1/4 c. margarine, melted
    1 egg, beaten
    2/3 c. mayonnaise
    1 c. shredded Cheddar cheese
    2 tsp. sugar
    1 (8 oz.) can sliced water chestnuts, drained
    1/8 tsp. pepper
Preparation
    Combine squash, water and salt in a pan; bring to a boil, cover and simmer 10 minutes.
    Drain.
    Saute onion and yellow pepper in butter 3 minutes.
    Combine melted magarine, egg, mayonnaise, salt, pepper and sugar.
    Add all other ingredients. Place in greased baking dish and bake at 350\u00b0 for 30 minutes. Serves 8.
