Spicy Green Beans * - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 Tbsp. peanut oil
1 tsp. minced ginger
1/2 tsp. minced garlic
1/2 lb. green beans, trimmed and slivered (whole works well, too)
1 tsp. sugar
2 Tbsp. dry sherry
1/2 tsp. salt
1 1/2 to 2 tsp. chili paste with garlic (available at Oriental food stores)
2 Tbsp. soy sauce
1/2 tsp. cornstarch
1 Tbsp. cold water
1 tsp. sesame oil
Preparation

Heat wok over high heat.
Add oil and heat.
Add ginger and garlic and stir-fry 30 seconds.
Add beans.
Stir-fry 2 to 3 minutes longer.
Add sugar, sherry, salt, chili paste with garlic and soy sauce.
Stir-fry 1 to 2 minutes longer.
In separate dish, combine cornstarch and water to make smooth paste.
Add to wok and cook until mixture boils and thickens.
Remove from heat. Add sesame oil.
Let cool.
Chill 2 or more hours.
Yield:
6 servings.
